 Discovery
Designing bridges using straws and tape. We've been discussing the purpose of revision/iteration.

Word Work: 
The students took an assessment on the following words. After completing the assessment, I met with the students individually to discuss strategies they used when spelling these words.

Writing: 
Today's lesson focused on creating powerful sentences. 
If a sentence:
- goes on and on and on, add punctuation to break the sentence apart.
- ends too soon, add linking words such as AND, BUT, BECAUSE and SO.
- gets confusing, BE BRAVE and say it a new way

During class meeting we shared with an "open heart." What did you share today?

Questions for the dinner table
What clues do authors give readers to help readers know HOW to read a story?
How do you spell "stream?" Share about the different parts of the word.
