Terrific Tuesday

Questions for the dinner table:
Why do we chat about nonfiction books?
What did our mentor author, George McClements, teach us today in writing?
Is a square a rectangle? Is a rectangle a square?
What is symmetry? How did we show symmetry in our butterflies?

Day in the life of Mathematician- Shape Style

We start each day with our Calendar Math
We opened our math lesson with a story about shapes
We then took a math pre-assesssment, looking at our knowledge both of two dimensional and three dimensional shapes

We went into a math workshop in which students were working on different tasks. Some students were completing worksheets, some were using the number bonds app on the iPad, and some were playing math games.
